Cleared

Saturday morning I took Thor to get his little heart checked out. The surgeon and nurse had heard a heart murmur which could have been a problem for sedating him for his CT scan. But the echo (for which he miraculously stayed realtively still for 20 minutes) revealed that he, like his Grandpa Tim and Aunt Carrie, has an innocent murmur that indicates no functional problem with his heart. He is cleared for sedation and then for surgery. Zach is taking him tomorrow morning for the CT scan.

Although my rational side was relatively certain we'd get good news, it was good to have all the "what if's" put to rest.

Oh, and by the way, surgery is scheduled for sure on December 28.

  1. Seeing all the tests listed and after wathcing him get his shots, I get a knot in my stomach. I DO know he will be OK but the process stinks. I love that little sweetie.

  3. Dear Kate
I live in sydney australia and my daughter Trinity was born on the 28th of January 2009. She was diagnosed with CCAM at 20 weeks and we had a horrendous heartwrenching lead up to her birth as you did. Little was known about CCAM here and the doctors were unsure about treatment so i spent my days googling when i came across your site. I have been following you and was so happy Anders was ok! Trinity will have a CT scan when she is one and she will probably require the same treatment as Anders...Like you once she was born i thought it was all behind us...
Best wishes and God Bless...keep us posted as your blog gave me so much hope and strength through the difficult times and still do!
Love Susie and Trinity from Sydney

  4. The Cullotons will be thinking about you all! The boys look great! We'll have to plan a "double date" the next time you're in Rochester. :)
