Today was full, full, full.
We went to see a play put on by Chicago Kids Company - Sleeping Beauty. Their plays are always good, but this was my least favorite so far. But the boys loved it and we had fun meeting up with friends.
Then we went out for lunch with Liz and Eva and I realized that Isaac's eye, which had been red since this morning, was also oozing. Ew. We slathered ourselves with hand sanitizer and I called the doctor.
During lunch someone left me a message inviting me to the next round of interviews for a job that I think I really want. Cool.
We went straight to the pediatrician from lunch, and keep in mind this was well into Anders's nap time. The doctor checked out both boys, finding that Isaac had conjunctivitis and an ear infection and Anders might have pneumonia. So we trooped it across the street to the hospital where my wee one got chest x-ray. Luckily he didn't have to be strapped down like he has in the past - he sat on a little stool and held perfectly still while Isaac and I checked out the "pictures of Ando's bones" in an adjacent room.
From the hospital, we stopped at the grocery store and scored the "car cart" which the boys proceeded to climb all over while I stood in line at the pharmacy under the scrutiny of other customers who did not drag their sick kids all over the world during nap time.
Finally we got home and I put everybody down for a nap at 3pm, knowing it had to be a short one if they were going to actually sleep tonight. Isaac, by this time, was miserable, rubbing the heck out of both eyes and attacking his nose with multitudes of tissues.
The doc never called me to tell me whether Anders had pneumonia, so I called him and found out that his chest x-ray was normal. Good news.
When I woke Anders up at 5:00, I let them watch a movie while I finished Isaac's Halloween costume and then made dinner. Zach got home, and it was dinner time, tubby time, and bed time.
My in-laws are on their way here and my kitchen floor needs to be mopped. But first, there is wine to be drunk.

I like your order of operations. Take advantage of some help from the in-laws this weekend and find a few moments for yourself. Love you!
