Two Naughty Boys

Yesterday the boys had their first ever Dual Time Out, and I had to bite my cheek to keep myself from laughing.

They had been playing with the train tracks, getting in each others' way, when Anders hauled off and smacked Isaac.  Isaac responded by pushing Anders over and making him cry.

I grabbed both of them and marched them to the bottom step where they sat next to each other, Isaac grinning, Anders crying.

"Anders," I said, "we do not hit.  You need to tell Isaac sorry."

Ando turned to his brother, inches away, and said, "Sowy."

"Isaac," I said, "you may not push your brother.  You need to tell Anders sorry."

Isaac, still smiling, turned to his brother and said, "Sorry."

"Now give each other a hug."  They did.

Anders looked at me, turned down his bottom lip and cried big, rolly tears. "Ready!" he said, as in, "I'm ready to behave now."  I didn't have it in me to make them stay there without laughing, so I let them go play again.  Sometimes I wish I could take pictures of these moments without ruining what I'm trying to do discipline-wise!
