This morning the boys' devotional book asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" My boys' answers were just so...them -- Anders the athlete and Isaac the dreamer.
Anders said, "I want to beeeeee... a FOOTBALL player!"
Isaac's first answer was, "I want to fly when I grow up. I want to be a bird." But then he revised it, "I want to be a garbage man."
The devotional then suggested that kids pray for God's help in achieving their dreams. Isaac promptly bowed his head and whispered, "Dear God, please help me be a garbage man and put garbage in the truck! Amen."
We're shooting for the stars over here.

I used to want to be a garbage man... and then a bus driver, and then a bum and live in the backyard of my parents house... Maybe he could be a flying garbage man?
ReplyDeleteHey, Miles wants to be a garbage man too! Maybe they could set up shop together.
