Dinner Conversation

One evening this summer, we were sitting around the picnic table with some friends.  During a lull in the conversation, Isaac asked completely out of the blue and with a very serious face, "Lizzy, why did you fall in love with Peter?" Once he heard their story, he asked Zach and me the same question.

We also had a single guy friend with us (I won't name him because I don't know if he'd be embarrassed). Isaac turned to him and said, "So-and-so, did you ever fall in love?"  He laughed and said, "Yes, a long time ago."  Then Isaac asked him, "And then did you lose her?"  The guy said, "Something like that.  I'll tell ya when you're older."
