Wednesday afternoon Isaac went to his first doctor's appointment. Our pediatrician is great with him, and although getting poked and prodded wasn't his favorite, he still got top marks. Dr. Minkus used the words amazing and perfection to describe his condition. [Yep, we're already bragging about his test scores.]
For those of you unfamiliar with newborn development, they actually lose weight after being born (it's a stressful time!), and it usually takes about 16 days to return to their birth weight. Isaac weighed in on Day 6 at 8 pounds, 3 ounces, so he'll be back to his birth weight in a little more than a week. In other words, he's eating like a champ, and the doctor bestowed the title Breast Feeding Champion upon Kate. Our friend Andrea has volunteered to design the trophy.

Hm. Minkus...isn't that the name of the nerdy boy on Boy Meets World? I think having a nerdy doctor is the way to go - for sure.
