Return to Normalcy

We are home. Our beautiful, comfortable, spacious home.

Leaving the hospital yesterday was one of those times that my excitement and happiness were a physical feeling. I was happy to leave that cramped, crowded, stinky and uncomfortable hospital room; I was excited to get Ando back to a nice home where he could truly rest and recover; but mostly, I was eager to cover Izey's cheeks with kisses.

Izey was funny when we got home. He smiled, but the first thing he said was, "Anders's crib is in your bedroom. Do you want to see it?" and then when I asked for a hug, he said, "No, I'm doing a puzzle right now." I did eventually get that hug, and I can tell he's happy to have us back, but he was just too busy to make a big scene about it. :) He continues to live up to my parents' nickname for him: Busy Izey.

Anders slept in a pack and play in our room and only woke up once in the night! We gave him pain meds and tucked him in and that was that! It was hard to get him to take a nap by himself in his crib this morning, but he eventually slept for a couple of hours.

It's amazing how quickly things have returned to close to normal. Anders only really complains when it's time for more meds. He's sleeping more than usual, but otherwise you'd never know he just got home from a week in the hospital! He was so happy to see Izey and play with his toys, and he loves his new little house from my Aunt Laura! Thank you, Lembrees!

I'll post pics as soon as life gets a little more organized. I slept so hard until almost 10am today, which I am so grateful for my family letting me do. Now I'm eager to unpack and get ready to go back to work in a couple days.
