Wheezy

This is one of those things I never want to forget because it's just sooooo Isaac.

Last spring for his birthday, Isaac got a Toy Story book that came with a set of about 12 miniature figurines.  One of those was Wheezy, the little penguin that has a small part in the second movie.  It was the smallest of the figures, measuring no more than a centimeter, and we all know how my Spike loves all that is tiny.

Wheezy came everywhere with us, usually clutched in a sweaty fist or tucked away in a pocket, and was often forgotten and rediscovered after he had been through an adventure in the washing machine.

One fateful day, though, Wheezy was left in the grass at a picnic spot by someone who shall remain nameless.

That was months ago.  Isaac still talks about Wheezy all the time.  "Mom, I really miss Wheezy," and "Where is Wheezy?  I want to go get him!" etc, etc.

Last week at church, the kids did a Thanksgiving craft.  They had to list things that they're thankful for on the leaves of a tree.  Of course, one of Isaac's leaves said, "Wheezy."

Yesterday at the park Isaac found a tiny pine cone, just about the size and shape of the real Wheezy.  He named it Wheezy and has been keeping close tabs on it ever since.

  1. For the record, Wheezy had a lot of fun at the splash park before the picnic mishap.

  4. Sam's class made turkeys with each feather having something they were thankful for. "Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother, Grandma, Grandpa and Chuck-e-Cheese"
