Thanksgiving Highlights

I have been trying and trying to post a HI-larious video of Izey's new trick, but I think it's too long or something. When Zach's not busy working or watching Smallville, I'll get him to help me with it. In the meantime, here are a few pics from Thanksgiving to tide you over.

We took the train to Rochester, a 6 hour trip. Here's Josh looking sleepy, Isaac looking adorable, and me looking like I'm growling....not sure why I'm smiling like that...Spike's musical debut on Granini's lap

Here's Rosy Cheeks in a sweater that Granini's mother made for Zach when he was a baby. The sleeves were too long, but otherwise he was pretty darling in it! If you click on the picture to see the bigger version you can see his two toofies on the bottom.

ALL DAY on Friday, we had NINJA WARRIOR on TV. Think "American Idol" meets "Gladiators" set in Japan. It was awesome, as evidenced by the awe on Isaac and my faces.

Thanksgiving day was spent with the Lewis clan--a family that Zach and Josh have grown up with. Here are Isaac's doting fans--Naomi, Olaiya, and Hannah.

Check out all the babies! From left to right: Zach Dahl, Hannah and Shelby Lewis, Olaiya Lewis, Anna Dahl, Naomi Lewis, and Izey Baby

We saved Izey's first vegetables for Thanksgiving day. Granini made him some homemade sweet potatoes. We were hoping for some funny faces, but he entertained us only with his eagerness to DEVOUR them. They are WAY better than rice cereal! Green beans, on the other hand, made him GAG!

Another funny moment that we just barely missed on film: Isaac kept rolling over to play with the little critter friends that Granini put in his crib with him. One afternoon I went to get him from his nap and he was on his tummy with a little stuffed alligator in his mouth! When I picked him up, he kept it there. In fact, he kept it in his mouth the whole way downstairs and throughout the family cracking up at him. He just looked at us with this little alligator sticking out of his mouth like, "What? What's so funny?"

My favorite non-Izey moment this weekend was during Thanksgiving dinner. We hadn't seen Olaiya, who is 3 1/2, in over a year. I thought she was a pretty cool kid. I had just leaned over to Zach and said, "I like Olaiya." Then her mom, Tara, told me, "Kate, you're being requested." Apparently she had just whispered to her mom, "I want to play with her," and pointed to me. Ha! Kids love me. :) I take after my mom that way.

  2. Looks like a great trip! I hope Isaac is a better eater of green veggies than Joshua. We have to hide them in other food or cover them with cheese! See you guys soon, when is the next coffee?
