Sam Stories

My niece and nephew are awesome and hilarious. Nadia, who is 7, has always been the girliest of all girlie girls. Her brother Sam, who is 3, is as boyish as they come. Every time I talk to my sister-in-law, brother, or parents after they've spent time with Sam and Nad, I end up cracking up.

The latest Sam story goes like this:

My dad was walking home from the park with Sam and they were checking out all the Christmas decorations. They came to one yard that had a simple nativity scene and the manger looked like a white box. Excitedly Sam pointed it out to my dad, saying, "Look! It's God! And He made a cake!"

Then they walked up closer and saw that there was a baby in the "cake." "Look!" said Sam, "Baby God!"

In my adolescent development class last night, our professor said that 2-3 year olds have a "love affair with life." Sam's definitely got that going on.
