My boys are in Minnesota with the Grandma and Grandpa this week and it's so weird (and wonderful) to have a quiet house.
This next Saturday is a big event our church has every year called the Community Care Clinic. This year my good friend Jake and I are the lead coordinators, so it's been a busy summer, especially the last few weeks. Check out the website Zach helped to make this year: firstfreeclinic.org.
We have the food pantry all set up, the clothing "closet" (which takes up the whole gym) is almost done, the medical and social service providers are lined up, the kitchen crew is ready to cook, and we have 110 Advocates (people who are paired with guests) signed up as of today. The last few years we've served about 350 guests. I think we may get even more this year.
If you think of it, pray for us this week as we prepare and pray for the guests, too!

You are simply amazing! I can already tell it's going to be a successful year! Love to you as you enter the final stretch!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like quite the undertaking to coordinate this whole thing. I hope the actual event went great.
