My Hero

Last week Friday was an absolute horrendous day in my household.  Isaac was acting out, I'm assuming because of the transition to being in preschool, and had been pretty aggressive toward Anders.  He actually fell asleep for his nap, had a big accident in his bed, and then cried for literally an hour and half straight when he woke up.  By the time Zach got home, I was at my wit's end.  I had called Z to warn him of the chaotic state of our home and my need for some serious back up.

Zach swooped in and saved the day.  I felt like a boxer who got to tag her partner to take her place for a few rounds.  As I attacked the mess and destruction that the Two Tornadoes had left in their wakes, I heard happy voices, laughter, and music trickling out of the office.

I had to check out what they were doing.  I found them like this:

They were watching an orchestral performance of William Tell's Overture.  They were completely rapt and watched for nearly 20 minutes.  They bounced on Zach's knees, named the instruments they saw, and listened to Zach's narration.

How cute is my husband!?

  2. I have been similarly rescued in the past. Like father, like son. We are lucky women.

  3. So much for the theory that all one needs is a sperm donor to have a family. Makes you wonder how the single mothers manage. God bless the fathers of our children.
