It was a long time to be away from daddy/hubby, but Isaac and I had a fabulous time in Florida.
He was the star of the plane ride on both the way down (even though we were stuck on the plane for an extra two hours while we waited for storms to clear!) and the way back and had an easy smile for anybody who talked to him. He's gaga for his cousin Nadia and loved sleeping in his grandpa's arms as he was walked around the condo at night.
Isaac was on a vacation routine of rarely being awake during the afternoon and coming to life in the evening. It actually fit in perfectly with what the rest of the fam wanted to do, i.e. hit the beach or pool during the day, go out to eat at all my 'rents favorite places at night.
Below is my mom and I on what we realized was probably the first "big girls'" night that just the two of us have ever had. We went to Leapin' Lizards with all her office mates and left Izey-Baby with his grandpa, great-great-grandma and cousin. It was fun to finally see the wacky crowd I always hear about and to see how much they all adore my mom and dad.Nadia may as well be a mermaid for all the time she spent in the water. Here she is in a pose exactly like one her daddy struck many years before--with a "zeezard" perched on her chest. I just wish she weren't so ugly... :)
When I could wake him up, Isaac loved being in the water. He also swam in the ocean and was much braver than his mom!
Isaac liked to dine with us on Grandpa Tim's lap, like many babies before him have done. And of course there were plenty of cuddles for Grammy Pammy.
How many kids can say they know their Great GREAT Grandma? My parents surprised us by having Grandma Clark there when we got off the plane. Here's Isaac with all the ladies. (Notice who he's smiling at. What can I say, the boy loves his momma.)
This is the view outside one of my parents' favorite places: Parrot Key. They are so sad to leave; you can see why!
We drove down to St. Petersburg to take Grandma home and have lunch with Uncle Josh...who I didn't take any pictures of, Doh! Below is Nadia and Grandma taking in the view from St. Pete Pier.
Isaac got to swim in the pool where I spent almost every single spring break--at Grandma Clark's retirement community. He loved cooling off with Grandpa. I know, I know, I'm making cream rather than milk!
The last two days we were joined by Sam, Amanda, and my 11 year old cousin Madison. Here's all the kids in their jammies on our last day.
This was one of my many attempts to keep Isaac awake in the afternoon by taking him for a dip in the pool. This one was thwarted by him promptly falling asleep while swimming.
There were a couple of other families at the pool, and Isaac, with his womanizing self, attracted the attention of all the little girls there.
Sammy LOVES his Grandpa Tim! What a daredevil!
All you Michiganders really better make my parents feel welcomed back home, because they lead a fun life down there! I do, however, think Isaac did his part to reassure them that to live far away from him is to miss out on too much. :)
