Indian Boundary Park is one of the coolest places in Chicago, especially for little ones. There's a lagoon practically overflowing with goldfish, catfish, turtles, and ducks. There's a little zoo that sometimes houses goats. There's an enormous castle-like play structure. And most importantly on a very hot summer day, there's a spray pool.
I had never seen a spray pool before I moved to Chi-town, but a number of our parks have them. It's just a giant sprinkler in a cement area designed for little kiddos to run around. Isaac and I have been to this one on many a humid day.
At first little Spike was timid, but give him a ball to chase and he will follow it anywhere, even under the gushing water. I usually end up pretty wet, too, which is fine with me. We also tend to make lots of friends--usually pre teen girls who love fat babies.
These are some of my favorite pictures (and memories) of this summer.

Too cute!! When I was in elementary school we used to go on a school-wide field trip to Indian Boundary Park at the end of the year. Ah, the memories.
