Ando and I had a little "photo shoot" while Isaac was napping the other day.
Here's our guy at 7 weeks.
See his dimple?
what a chunk!

"I'm done, Mom!"A lot of people say that Ando looks just like Izey, but I don't think so at all! Anders's eyes are very different; where Isaac's were almond-shaped, brown, farther apart, and framed by dark lashes and brows, Anders's are round, blue, closer together, and surrounded by barely-visible blonde lashes and brows. Isaac was born with lots more hair that was also darker.
You can see that Anders has a dimple in his left cheek and a little red birth mark on his forehead. His birthmark was there right from the start but it was very faint at first. I think it might fade a little as he gets older. His skin is starting to clear up, so I'm grateful to have softer cheeks to cover with kisses! Although you can't see it in the pictures yet, he's starting to grow new hair on the top of his head.

Anders is quite a chatterer, which is a major difference from his big bro. Isaac was kind of a quiet baby early on (although he never shuts up now!), but Ando will coo and squeal at us or at toys and pictures I set up for him to look at. I think it's his way of making sure we pay attention to him!
He's also a better night time sleeper than Izey was. Isaac would have long awake times at night while Anders just wakes up to nurse twice and goes easily right back to sleep again.
Like his big brother, though, Anders eats every TWO hours during the day and gets fussy in the evenings. Last night was a big break through, though, because I tried some "cluster feeding" (that just means I fed him more often) in hopes that he'd go to sleep earlier and it worked!

When Ando's trying to get to sleep in my arms, he throws himself over to my left and nuzzles his face in my chest or arm. He hates the mimi most of the time and refuses to eat more than about 2 ounces out of a bottle (which means we can't leave him with a babysitter for more than about an hour--ugh!).
That's about everything I know about my little one so far!

Wow - I see so much of YOU in him, Kate!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these photos! he is TOO cute! that dimple - wow. I agree that he looks tons diff then Izey, although I see the resemblance that other less-informed onlookers may be referring to :). hee hee. He has very distinct facial features I feel like for his age - little chin, eyes that grab you, etc. I can't wait to see how he looks older when he looks, you know, how Ando will look for realsies! sweet boy...
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is SUCH a VanDusen face. I agree - your boys have very different looks but still seem to be the perfect mix of you and Zach. It's so interesting to see. Can't wait to see you guys this weekend!!!
