Monday morning's appointment was more of the same, which is pretty good. There was no evidence of hydrops. The CVR was 1.6, so it looks like we're not yet hitting that growth plateau, but the CCAM seems to be growing pretty slowly. The CVR is kind of staying the same, which means that the tumor is growing at the same rate as the baby. That is MUCH better than if the CCAM were growing faster than the baby, as they tend to do! So we're thankful for that.
They also did a growth assessment of our little man, and he now weighs one pound, seven ounces, which puts him in the 57% for his gestational age. Perfect!
He was moving around like a crazy baby and being uncooperative as usual, which is a good sign that he's coping well with the growth of the tumor.
Although I couldn't be happier that they predict Thor won't need the surgery until he's two or three months old, I keep picturing having to hand over my little baby to the surgeons when he's that age. It is going to be hard.
In other news, Isaac is learning to say Thor's real name. However, even if you were to hear him say it, you would have no idea what the name is. :)

ReplyDeleteI see a plot for a movie coming from this, here is the pitch.
"Out Of The Mouth Of Babes"
A toddler learns the secret to a diabolical evil plot that threatens the entire world. It all hinges on one word, that only the toddler knows. The US Government assigns the protection of the toddler to their best man, Devon Steele a tough as nails secret agent. Steele knows nothing about toddlers and now finds himself taking care of him. He has to learn to change diapers, feed him, play with him, nap times, and of course time outs.
Hilarity and heart ensues
