This is NOT an Announcement

Isaac's favorite "trick" is shaking his head back and forth hard enough and often enough that we're a little concerned about brain damage. We're not quite sure what it means--it's often kind of a dance or an attention getter--but he does it a LOT.

Around Thanksgiving time, EVERY TIME we said, "da da da da da," Isaac would smile and shake his head like a crazy man. We would always ask him, "Izey, can you say 'da da da da da'?" and he would shake his head as if to say, "No, silly Momma, I'm too little to talk!"

In the following video, which was taken at Thanksgiving, I ask him another question and get a different answer, leading me to believe that our genius son has learned to communicate with us despite our neglecting to teach him baby sign language.

I obviously thought his answer was pretty hilarious. It took me awhile to post this video because I didn't know how to edit videos and had to enlist Zach's help. It was too long to post the whole thing, but leading up to my questions, Isaac had been shaking his head for at least a full minute, which is why the sudden change to a nod was so funny.

Strangely, there were a couple of weeks around Christmas time when Isaac wasn't doing his trick anymore, but then suddenly last week he started up again. Maybe his neck needed a little break.
