Whenever Zach and I hug, Isaac wants in on the action. He says, "Everybody big hug!" and holds out his arms so that we'll pick him up and include him in our display of affection.
Whenever I get the boys all ready in the stroller or buckled in their carseats, Isaac says,
"Here we go, boys."
The other day Isaac was popping in and out of the closet and saying, "Hi Momma," each time. Eventually it turned into "Hi Obama," over and over again.
Two days ago, Isaac started talking to a black fuzzy on the carpet. He was very sweet to it, saying, "Hi ladybug. Izey showin' ladybug Curious George," and he held up the book to the fuzzy.
Isaac often combines words and names of characters, so we've gotten this request for the movie "Monsters Inc."--"Izey wanna watch Cookie Monster Inc." and he also talks about "Christopher Robin Hood."
When Isaac gets really passionate about something, he adds "Oh!" to the beginning of his sentences, so we often hear, "Oh Izey need a hungry." If he goes unanswered, or if we tell him no, sometimes it turns into "Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!"
The majority of Isaac's time-outs are for playing with the cat food or digging in the fireplace. At the end of his time-outs, he's supposed to say sorry for what he did. Now no matter what he's gotten a time-out for, even if it's something like hitting his brother, he often says, "Sorry Kedzie food fireplace."
The other night we all sat down to dinner, and I swear Isaac said, "Let us pray." Zach and I looked at each other, said, "What did he just say???" and started cracking up.
And he usually eats a little and then requests to "Pray again!"
When he hears Anders waking up, he'll tell us, "Anders sweakin'" (that's 'squeaking') and commands me, "Momma get him."
Isaac likes to carry his blankie around and snuggle with it. He says, "Izey swuggly."
We iChat and Skype with my family including Isaac's Aunt Mango and Aunt Carrie, who he has recently insisted on refering to as "Uncle Carrie" and "Uncle Mango" despite repeated attempts to correct him.
Isaac often stacks a cup in a bowl or a bowl on a plate and calls it a "birthday cake." Lately he tells me throughout the day, "Izey having a birthday time!" I have no idea.
Today he told me, "Baby Anders happy. Izey happy too. Momma happy too. Everybody's happy."

ReplyDeleteSweet collection, Kate! I love the pat apology and Anders squeaking (his assessment of how brother sounds?) and Isaac wanting him to be taken care of. *Love* this age - thanks for sharing!
